This month in the Yiniverse:
#1 – Human Garage

I’ve left this really late. But in all honesty I thought I could do it myself with a miracle!
Some of you already know I have received a partial scholarship from Human Garage to become a Level 1 Certified Fascial Maneuver Coach. I’ve been recently advised that they will not be continuing their Scholarship Program, so essentially I am one of the lucky last to make it through with subsidies.
If you haven’t heard of Human Garage, my best go at describing them would be – they are a group of practitioners from different disciplines who have developed a movement methodology that releases stress and tension from the body and boosts our bioelectric energy. Their maneuvers are mostly self administered until a certain point where you can benefit from additional assisted bodywork. They have a goal of helping 1 billion people heal themselves. Which is why so much of their work is available free. I’m not exaggerating when I say the movement practice has helped people reverse lifelong chronic pain, disease and all kinds of ailments conventional doctors have said was not possible. You’ll have to go down the rabbit hole to see and believe. Or better yet try it on yourself at home!
I feel strongly that Yin Yoga has this exact quality. I resonate with their work because I work with the same target organ. The fascia. It’s beautiful to have a completely different body of work achieve similar things (and maybe more). So I feel pretty blessed to have landed this opportunity.

Studying with Human Garage feels very aligned with my journey so far. Fascia bodywork keeps finding me, and I don’t think it’s coincidence.
As a Gemini I feel I am gifted in communication and am supposed to learn this additional language. Yin Yoga isn’t for everyone. But Fascial Maneuvers seems to work for everyone? Those of you with a more Yang constitution might really like it.
I’ve been studying it on myself and documenting the journey which I will share one day. I’ve completed their 28 day reset, and currently doing another round.

I know the titles of the episodes are terribly click-baity but I guess that’s a choice they have made by reading the room. So many people are in a state of desperation, wanting a quick fix and need urgent help. In many ways – it is a simple tool for quick relief and an accessible place for anyone to start. Much like Yin Yoga!
Our bodies are unique. Taking good care of our bodies is important to me because they are vehicles that animate our soul. We are all destined for wonderful things that only each of us know.
While we are all navigating this current epidemic of ‘broken’ bodies, I want to be on the front foot and take a chance. There is a lot of science on fascia and self-healing but it is still relatively new. I believe more science will follow – like it always does. I don’t accept it as normal for us to live with chronic stress, anxiety, pain, stiffness etcetera. I also don’t accept that it should cost a fortune to help yourself.
Whether you are living with really subtle issues that are mild and in the background or something essentially debilitating – the body needs a way to cope that is self applied for instant relief. Like I always say – you already have everything you need! Trust, listen, trust!

Yin Yoga, like any good thing is best practiced consistently. Practicing often will guarantee needle moving positive change and healing.
Remember ~ Yin is the balance to Yang. Yang is sweaty exercise, busy lifestyles, power, building, growing, going-going-going. Yin is slow and steady, quiet, internal, softness, cultivating, repairing, enjoying-enjoying-enjoying. You need both!
